CWRU Sponsors Bikes Bees and Butterflies Installation in the Circle

This Summer, as a part of the Ann Cicerella Landscape Design public art and urban sustainability project, Bikes Bees and Butterflies, CWRU sponsored a re-purposed bike turned planter at Wade Oval near the Cleveland Botanical Gardens. The Botanical Gardens will be maintaining the planter, which serves to act as a living pollinator planter for bees and butterflies to call home, while educating the public about the importance of bees and butterflies to our ecosystem, as well as broader lessons about sustainability and collaboration. The project called upon 16 local artists to create the bike planters, and brought together twenty eight community partners and institutions to sponsor the project. Anna Arnold, the artist of CWRU’s bike, is a local artist and CWRU alumni. The CWRU Office for Sustainability is happy to have been a part of this collaborative non-profit project!
